About Us

Since young children learn through play, we believe it is our role to give them the space, respect and resources to play well.

The natural environment provides one of the richest settings for children to be children - free to move, to learn the abilities and limits of their own bodies and to recognize their place in the natural world.

We allow the children to follow their curiosities in nature so they gain confidence and a love of learning.

Our Mission

Our nature classes strive to nurture every child’s optimal development through nature exploration, imagination, creativity, movement, community observation and fun.  During the ages of 0-7, the brain develops much of its super-learning capacities through movement and interaction with the senses.  This can be done best in the rich environment nature offer.  So we optimize this learning potential in the woods through free play, curiosity lead exploration, question based teaching (like the Socratic method), group bonding, nature games and activities, age appropriate nature skills, animal and plant "tracking,” sit spots and much more. Join us in our local woods!!!

Our Purpose

Why did we start Forest School?  Not only is it great for our kids but also for the planet that we love.  Our hope is to foster a curiosity of and love for natural Florida and an overall connection to nature.   We hope to build strong, loving community through the bonds we forge in nature and the excellent communication skills we nurture.  And through these experiences we hope large generation of naturalists will be born to care-give, protect and build up Earth’s woods, forests and “green-spaces.”

We believe it is our children’s birthright to

feel the grass between their toes, the heat of the sun on their backs,

the tickle of an afternoon rain shower on their palms and awe of discovering nature’s secrets hidden in a tree in their neighborhood woods.
