Our Teacher and Director . . .

Carolyn
Program Director and Teacher
Carolyn has been involved in Forest School play group with the ideas of starting a Forest Pre-K and Kindergarten for her children. As a psychologist Carolyn focused her work on kids and families with ADHD, and other sensory integration challenges. With education from Naropa University in their MA Transpersonal Psychology, Wilderness Counseling and Somatic Psychotherapy, Carolyn began a unique practice with water therapy, tutoring, coaching, and even energy work with her kids. But as her knowledge and experience
deepened, she discovered that nature provides a vast field of healing for children and that movement and diet in the young attachment years are keys to prevention for many children. In addition to therapy practices, Carolyn has developed her own companies and instructed children in many capacities over her career. Her current company is a mindful, attachment-based swim school. In the capacity of a teacher and program director, Carolyn has tutored for over 12 years, wrote curriculum for various programs including nature based pre-k and mindfulness for teens using Jedi as inspiration. She has taught as a substitute for the Manatee school district, directed youth and family ministry program with camp and wilderness programs, and served as an AmeriCorps in St. Croix where
she lead tutoring hour, started grant-based swimming program and led teen girl empowerment programs.
